Treatment for: The correction of facial lipoatrophy (loss of facial fullness and volume) that occurs as we age.
What is Sculptra Aesthetic:
 Sculptra Aesthetic is a revolutionary facial injectable that gradually helps to replace the collagen in your skin that is lost over time. It is comprised of synthetic material known as “poly-L-lactic acid.” Poly-L-lactic acid and is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other types of medical grade implants.
How it works:
Sculptra Aesthetic is injected into the skin and underlying tissue to restore and correct the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) that occurs as we age. Unlike other injectables, Sculptra works deep within the dermis, where your skin’s structure is reinforced. Over a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart, the collagen structure is gradually reinforced – subtly restoring the look of fuller and more youthful skin. Results are gradual and occur over several months. Sculptra® has been clinically proven to be an effective and well-tolerated treatment for the signs of facial lipoatrophy with results lasting 2-3 years on average. Touch up treatments may then be suggested to maintain desired results.
What to expect:
With Sculptra Aesthetic, you can expect to see a gradual restoration of facial volume and fullness in the areas treated. Results are subtle and occur over a period of 6-8 months depending on how far apart your treatment sessions are scheduled. After each treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites. Immediately following treatment, cold compresses may be applied to reduce swelling and any discomfort.
How quickly can I get back to my daily activites?
Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately following treatment.
When will I be able to apply make-up after treatment?
Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment if no complications are present.
